Dumping the girl

There comes a sad day when most men realize that the girl that they are with is not the right one for them. Some agonize over this because they have grown close to this individual. Others simply are looking for an easy way out of a hell hole of a place. Dumping girls is something I have never had to do, because well, I haven’t found a girl that likes me for who I am. However, getting dumped or dumping someone is something that happens until you think you found the right girl and decide that now is the time to get married. Below are the 4 most commonly used methods of dumping someone (and I’m not talking about on their chest, either).

1. Electronic. Email, text or Facebook removal of in a relationship are different ways of electronic dumping. Impersonal to say the least, this option allows a guard to be made. You don’t have to sit down face to face and break the news to her. You can be watching the game and send “We’re over. Pick your things up tomorrow” and just like that it’s done. Or maybe you send a long detailed email explaining how right now you don’t think that it is in the best interest of the both of you to be together. Perhaps you want the world to know first, so you change your relationship status to single. All three of these options do however leave her with an option (which she most likely will take) to call you or set up a time to meet. She isn’t going to be happy about this for sure. Not having the courtesy to sit down and explain your feelings and instead sending a text. Yeah that’s a guy for you.

2. In-Person. Meeting face to face can be a good and a bad thing. First lets go with the positive. You both are there and can talk directly to one another. There is no over the phone or texting but face to face talking. She can say everything that she wants to say. It will be a lot. You can say what you feel and leave it at that. The bad thing though is that she might try to pull out all cards in order to keep you around. You have to play the role as the one in charge. You cannot let her try and run the show. You either want to be with her or you don’t, it’s that simple.

3. Through a Contact. You are so confused and befuddle about the brewing relationship that you decide to step back and walk away from it. Literally. You are approaching Blain Park when you see one of your girlfriends’ friends. She waves at you and you casually walk towards her. As soon as you get within earshot, she asks how you and ______ are doing. You tell her that everything isn’t well and that you are breaking up. You complain about the differences and how she doesn’t let you do anything. You go on dragging it out and she sits there and listens patiently. As you walk away, she grabs her phone to text your ex. Before you even make it back to the sidewalk your phone is ringing…

4. Implicitly. Sometimes it is just known. Your actions speak louder than any words you could say. She knows it too. She hates it with a passion. She doesn’t even know how to bring it up to you. You go about your business like usual while she suffers through the night. You know it too. Find someone else and move on. Pretty simple to me.
